Testimony? What’s a testimony anyway? Well, it’s just a fancy word for “personal story”. When we tell our story, it helps others to see that they aren’t alone in whatever they‘re dealing with. We‘ve provided this section on the forum so you can tell us about yourself.  You’re welcome to share what you’ve been through and what you learned from it all.

Here’s an example: I dealt with a large degree of neglect and felt unnoticed most of the time. I was a very quiet child and my parents were going through a divorce. I wanted the adults in my life to pay attention to and interact with me, but they were dealing with their own problems and emotions at the time so I was pretty much left to myself. I remember one time being at my grandmother’s house and feeling so lonely… I hid under a dresser and waited for someone to come and find me. I eventually got tired of waiting and came out to ask if anyone wondered where I was… they never even missed me! I felt so unloved!

Now, years later I have learned that Jesus actually has always been by my side and has never left me! He was there the whole time but as a child, I never knew it. Now I know that he said he would never leave me or abandon me. He is my friend who sticks by me though every situation.

Knowing he’s there for me has changed everything. I don’t feel lonely and unloved anymore.

What’s your story?

Hey, who doesn’t need to be encouraged now and then? I love it when I get some uplifting news! There’s enough negative stuff happening in the world and in our personal lives to drag us down so I’m always glad to hear something good!

Talking to my husband or sister, who can often times see things differently than I, gives me a realistic perspective on what’s happening. I appreciate their input!

What encourages you? We’d love to hear about it!

What do you believe about yourself, God and others that keeps you stuck in behaviors you would like to overcome? Maybe lies like, "Nobody cares," "There's no hope for me," or "I can't change."  We believe lies like this when we experience things that we don't know how to process. It may be childhood abuse or a fearful life experience with no one to help us process the pain.  What to do now? Jesus said, "You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free" (John 8:32). Realizing and accepting the truth begins the healing process that sets us free. Overcomers In Christ offers a safe and loving place to begin discovering the healing truth.
